Toews to Donate $100,000 to COVID-19 Response Fund


  • Blackhawks captain matching team contribution to Chicago Community COVID-19 Response Fund through personal foundation
  • Through his personal foundation, Chicago Blackhawks Captain Jonathan Toews will commit a $100,000 donation to the Chicago Community COVID-19 Response Fund.
  • The fund, established by The Chicago Community Trust and United Way of Metro Chicago with support from the City of Chicago, local philanthropists and business leaders, is rapidly deploying resources to local nonprofit organizations serving the most vulnerable residents in the Chicago region as a result of the public health, social and economic consequences of COVID-19.
  • This is intended to match the Chicago Blackhawks Foundation’s ongoing effort for the relief fund, with CBF matching the first $100,000 in individual fan donations contributed through through the end of March.
