  • FInally, Brendan Lemieux took him on and won a decision in a donnybrook in center ice.
  • Brendan Lemieux stood up for the team and arguably won a split decision.
  • This followed a hellacious check by Chris Kreider.
  • Lemieux took the extra two minutes for roughing, but he and the team have to be commended for maintaining composure and not falling for Wilson’s antics.
  • Finally a fight where the guys WANT to stand and punch each other in the face.
  • Props to the linesman for letting them go

New York Rangers vs Washington Capitals: A dominant 4-1 win

  • Artemi Panarin once again displayed his skill in scoring two power play goals. Kaapo Kakko returned from his bout with the flu and continued to show his playmaking ability with two assists.
  • Pavel Buchnevich arguably played his best game of the season and Brett Howden did the same, taking a physical beating and being rewarded with a goal.
  • The game was marred by a lone power play goal by the Capitals that came after the Rangers had opened up a three goal lead.
  • The Blueshirts struck right back and the best team in the NHL went meekly to their fourth regulation loss in 24 games.
