Kostin’s go-ahead goal lifts Blues past Blue Jackets


  • Klim KostinĀ scored the go-ahead goal 7:24 into the third period, and the St. Louis Blues defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-3 at Enterprise Center on Sunday.
  • Kostin, a forward taken by the Blues in the first round (No. 31) of the 2017 NHL Draft, drove to the net, took a pass fromĀ Jaden SchwartzĀ and lifted a backhand shot over Blue Jackets goalieĀ Elvis MerzlikinsĀ for his third preseason goal.
  • Schwartz,Ā Alex PietrangeloĀ andĀ Tyler BozakĀ scored for the Blues andĀ Jordan BinningtonĀ made 22 saves.
  • Jakob LiljaĀ scored the first two goals for Columbus, andĀ Riley NashĀ got the Blue Jackets even at 3-3 when he scored at 5:17 of the third period. Merzlikins made 29 saves.
