Jordan Binnington is good at a lot of things, including stopping pucks and making grand entrances

  • A grinning Jordan Binnington hoisted the Stanley Cup for screaming fans in his hometown of Richmond Hill on Friday morning.
  • The 26-year-old goaltender helped the St. Louis Blues capture their first-ever NHL championship title last month after defeating the Boston Bruins.
  • Riding in an open convertible, Binnington showed off the iconic trophy to fans at Richmond Green Park.
  • He was then given the key to the city by Richmond Hill Mayor Dave Barrow during a rally held inside the park.
  • The rally was attended by hundreds of people.

β€œI heard through the wire that the Town of Richmond Hill was backing me along the way and that means a lot to me,” Binnington told the crowd. β€œYou know bringing people together and having a positive influence on a community like this is very special to me.”

  • A Binnington fan made a card for the St. Louis Blues goaltender, and asked his mother to deliver it.
  • Unbeknownst to the young man, Binnington was there in person during his day with the Stanley Cup, bringing the trophy to Toronto, and delivering a moment this kid won’t soon forget.
