The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Los Angeles Kings have had preliminary discussions to send Patrick Marleau to the Kings

  • According to TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun, the Toronto Maple Leafs discussed a potential Patrick Marleau trade with the Los Angeles Kings, but as of now there does not appear to be a fit.
  • The Toronto Maple Leafs are looking to create some cap space.
  • According to the latest NHL trade rumors, the Leafs could move Patrick Marleau.
  • In fact, they’re having discussions with the Los Angeles Kings.
  • If the Kings have to shed salary to make a Patrick Marleau trade work, then perhaps a package coming back to Toronto May include Alec Martinez and Kyle Clifford.
  • Both combine for roughly $5.6 million in cap space, whereas Marleau makes $6.25 million for next season.
  • That wouldn’t make the Kings any younger that’s for sure.
