John Tavares records his first career four-goal game
  • Toronto Maple Leafs forward John Tavares scores twice in the 1st period and tallies again in the 2nd and 3rd against the Florida Panthers, registering the first four-goal game of his NHL career
  • John Tavares is the first Leafs player to score four goals in a game since Auston Matthews in October 2016.
  • By the way, Auston Matthews scored 4 goals in his first rookie game… just sayin
  • Tavares is also  the eighth player to score four goals in a game this season and just the fourth Maple Leafs player to do so in the last 20 years.
  • He is now the NHL’s second-leading goal scorer at 44.
  • Congrats John, you can be proud of yourself.
